About

Christian Lehnert - software developer, security researcher, and Linux enthusiast. I've been running Debian systems for over a decade and maintain a homelab where I experiment with infrastructure, automation, and security tooling.
My background spans system administration, software development, and cybersecurity. I believe in learning through hands-on experimentation and sharing knowledge with the community.
When I'm not deep in code or configuring systems, you'll find me hiking trails, reading philosophy, or exploring questions of faith and meaning.

the stack
This blog runs on a small Debian VPS that doubles as the load balancer for my homelab. Inbound traffic hits the VPS, gets terminated there, and is forwarded through a MikroTik router into the home network where the actual services live.
- VPS — Debian, public IP, handles TLS and acts as the always-on edge.
- Load balancer — the same VPS reverse-proxies into the homelab and spreads load across backend services.
- MikroTik router — the gateway between the public tunnel and the LAN. Routing, firewall, VPN termination, the usual RouterOS toolkit.
- Homelab — Debian boxes running the actual workloads. Containerised where it makes sense, plain systemd where it doesn't.
Boring tech, picked because it's reliable. If something breaks at 3am, I want tools I already know how to debug.
